I know I have touch on this subject (usually as part of another subject) in the past. It is such a great topic that it deserves a day all to itself.
Leaving your comfort zone is something that many of us HAVE TO do when we change jobs, change schools, change relationships.
Rarely is leaving our COMFORT ZONE something we do because we CHOOSE TO do.
You know Eleanor Roosevelt (the President's wife) is credited to have said, “Do one thing every day that scares you.”
Talk about leaving your comfort zone. EVERY DAY and be sure that whatever you do that it SCARES YOU!
Now that's SERIOUS.
Leaving the comfort zone on a consistent and deliberate basis has its benefits. It helps lessen your anxiety to change whether it is expected or unexpected. Stepping outside your comfort zone EXPOSES you to new ideas, new ways of thinking, and new ways of seeing things from a different perspective.
Who doesn't like seeing things from a new point of view or experiencing something new and exciting? Now, I am not saying that you should go out and jump from a balloon that's 24 miles up in the sky but what I am saying is do something that will at least challenge you.
Before you know it, your comfort zone will be so large that it may eventually be impossible to step out of.
Now, get out there and DO SOMETHING.
Talk to you soon,
Dave Guerra
