Having an emergency fund is something that everyone should ALWAYS either be building up or in place (and then adding more). Those rainy days can happen at any time. Usually, rain days don't always come in the form of a Hurricane just ask the Tornado victims of Joplin, Missouri.
Rainy Days are not always about the weather. They can be a job loss, a mechanical failure of your automobile, or the ruptured water line.
While things are better than the worst thing that could happen start saving. Save what you can, when you can or you can set a goal that goes a little something like this: "In 36 months I will have saved enough money to cover six months of pay."
Half a year's pay is definitely something doable especially if you put your mind and wallet into it. Start as soon as possible, your future self will thank you for it.
Thank you,
