Jumping the Shark

I have been meaning to write something on my blog. Just not too sure what to write about. There's been so much happening that I don't know where to begin or even to begin at all. Still it's been over a month since I last wrote anything and I figure if I write something it better be catchy, it better be trendy, it better be over the top. Above all, it better be good.

Speaking of over the top I am titling this post "Jumping the Shark."

Jumping the shark is a term used when "TV critics and fans to denote that point in a TV show or movie series' history where the plot veers off into absurd story lines or out-of-the-ordinary characterizations, particularly for a show with falling ratings apparently becoming more desperate to draw viewers in."(wikipedia.com)

The classic example or where "jumping the shark" got its name from was from the television show Happy Days. It's a show that ran in the 70s set in the 1950s. In one episode, one of the leads, Fonzie (Henry Winkler), wearing swim trunks and his trademark leather jacket, jumps over a penned-in shark while water skiing. In the story line, Fonzie does this to "prove a point" what it was no one remembers or cares.

Now fast forward to 2009 and the term "jumping the shark" now make sense, I hope?

So I'm not going to jump the shark just to get your attention again. There is already too much jumping the shark going on. Let's see where do we begin?
