100 Days, 100 Ways Day 25: Make Time To Meditate and Do It!

A couple of posts ago, I talked about how moving at 100mph is the new normal. I talked about not being so serious so often. Something that you can do to help bring you back to a more normal pace.

MEDITATE

Meditate EVERYDAY.

Not sure how to meditate. Try the following:
1. Set some time aside for yourself.
2. Set no less than 30 minutes aside.
3. Set the TV to OFF.
4. Set the cell phone to OFF.
5. Set the PC/Laptop/iPad to OFF.
6. Set the rest of humans in your life to OFF.
7. Find a comfortable place to sit.
8. Make certain that you have as much silence as possible.

Now you are ready to begin.First, concentrate on your breathing and get it into a rhythm that is both deep and calming.  Then start to consciously relax your body from your head down to your neck to you arms, hands then down you back and front. Continue down your legs all the way to the tips of your toes. Now that you are relaxed, begin to clear your mind.

Empty your mind of all your worries, fears, doubts, joys, and everything else that accompanies your day-to-day life. This may be difficult at first, you may want to throw in the towel and call this meditation "mumbo jumbo" a lot of nonsense but don't give up. It will get easier as you go along.

Work at clearing your mind and before you know it you will start to revel in the fact that during that time you will be clear-headed and stress and anxiety will start to leave your life. You will feel better even after just one time. Imagine how much better you will feel when Meditation becomes a habit.
